Santa swaps a sleigh for fire truck in Mt Helena

FIRIES from Mt Helena will be out in force again this year to accompany Father Christmas on Christmas morning.

The man in red will leave the fire station in Chidlow Street about 7.30am to visit all homes by noon.

Parent helpers are asked to drop off gifts, clearly marked with the name and address of the child, at Mt Helena Post Office from December 7 to 23.

Remember, children should keep a lookout and be waiting at the gate for their visit because Santa has many homes to call on and he cannot travel up driveways or wait too long.

Mt Helena fire crews have escorted Father Christmas for almost 40 years.
