Severe fire rating for Perth Hills today

Lynn GriersonHills Avon Valley Gazette

TODAY’s fire danger rating is severe for the Perth Hills and neighbouring shires of Gingin, Chittering, Toodyay and Swan.

The risk of a bushfire is catastrophic for the Avon District and high for Lower West Coast, which includes the Perth metropolitan area.

Fire and Emergency Services issued multiple higher ratings and a continuation of yesterday’s total fire ban for about two-thirds of WA.

Mundaring and Kalamunda are among the shires to place a harvest and vehicle movement ban until 6pm.
