For the second year running, educator and sheep shearer Steve Bindoon will take the weight off and give the local livestock a basic health check at Gidgegannup Showgrounds from 8.30am to 4.30pm on Saturday, August 22.
The Rotary Club wants to help people who own a few sheep and have difficulty getting someone to come and shear them. Mr Bindoon, of Kelmscott, said owners could learn more about the care and management of their livestock. A small service fee of $10 per sheep is payable to cover the costs.
Any profit will go towards community projects run by Rotary.
Families are welcome to watch and enjoy a sausage sizzle, but dogs are not permitted because they are likely to spook the sheep.
Call Donna on 0419 048 477 to book a shearing time.
