Shire of Mundaring makes request for conditions of McDonald’s store before JDAP hearing

Lynn GriersonHills Avon Valley Gazette

PUBLIC feedback on plans for another fast food giant in Mundaring closed with Shire councillors suggesting recommendations to the decision makers.

A Joint Development Assessment Panel (JDAP) will determine the outcome of a McDonald’s proposal for a 24-hour outlet and drive-in on the corner of Mann Street and Great Eastern Highway.

The Shire deputation to JDAP, approved at a council meeting last week, will call for opening hours to be restricted from 6am to 10pm, seven days a week.

Councillors also requested removal of a pylon sign proposal from the highway and called for an application to erect one in Mann Street.

Other recommendations in the deputation led by Councillor John Daw will include protection of nearby trees and a vegetation plan for the outlet.

Public submissions for comment on the application closed on April 7.
