The council has asked Darlington Sports and Recreation Association to provide a detailed design with a breakdown of costs for the new community meeting space to include plans for a veranda, small office, toilets and outdoor entertaining area.
The association will apply for Lotterywest funding and councillors agreed to consider a contribution of $100,000 for earthworks and sewage upgrades, as part of the corporate business plan for 2016/17.
Shire involvement in the pavilion upgrade previously focused on the project being a fully community-funded and built project.
