A SMOKE alert has been issued for parts of Perth after prescribed burns in the hills area.
The alert, issued on the Emergency WA website, says the haze ia from burns carried out in the south-east of Perth and in the hills to mitigate the risk of bushfires.

READ NOW“The smoke is expected to impact the Perth Hills area and northern suburbs this evening before shifting to the southern suburbs overnight,” the alert said.
“The smoke is expected to clear by late tomorrow morning.”
If the smoke is particularly thick, residents are advised to close their doors and windows and turn off air-conditioners.
Motorists and people with breathing conditions should take precautions.
