Water Minister Mia Davies recently recognised 89 businesses saving more than 14 billion litres of water: about 6200 Olympic-sized swimming pools.

Northam Race Club received platinum for achieving improvements in 2014-15 of more than 50 per cent, while the shopping centre came in with silver.

A gold award went to Bandyup Women’s Prison in West Swan for water savings between 35 to 50 per cent.

The Central Wheatbelt MLA said the State Government’s Water Efficiency Management Plan had helped 304 businesses in WA to reduce water usage.
