SPICE goddess Seanne Davis is on fire after scooping three national awards in a competition recognising top chilli products across Australia.

Her Sublime Spices are on sale regularly at Kalamunda Village Markets and this weekend she will exhibit at Taste of Perth and the Perth Garden Festival, two high-profile events for dedicated foodies.

Mrs Davis took out three first places in her first year of business for her Zucchini Relish, Strawberry Tsea-nami Jam and Tempestuous Lava Chutney at the Mr Chilli Awards.

The cottage gardener and cook’s range of products were developed from a desire to feed her family of seven healthy, tasty, home-prepared food.

“Cooking for my family and friends is how I show them how much I care for them,” the Forrestfield resident said.

“I’ve always loved experimenting with produce from my own garden and sharing the leftovers with neighbours, friends and family, so Sublime Spices was just a natural progression from that.

“I’ve been creating chilli sauce recipes for the last five years, perfecting the right balance of flavour and heat to then share with family, friends and friends of friends for feedback.”

Since launching her products in Kalamunda, Mrs Davis has taken her chilli products to Margaret River Gourmet Escape and other gourmet festivals.

“I just love the Perth market or festival scene and definitely the customer interaction, watching people taste and enjoy brings me much happiness so there is usually a lot of laughter and smiling going on,” she said.

Mrs Davis said she had passed on her love of chilli to her family, who love to add extra flavour to meals with a dash of mum’s spicy condiments.
