The month-long event is a partnership between the Eastern Metropolitan Regional Council, the City of Swan, Mundaring in Transition, Hills Sustainability Group and Earth Carers.

The Plastic Free July Pledge encourages residents to avoid all single-use plastic items for a day, a week or all of July.

Eastern Metropolitan Regional Council chief executive Peter Schneider said it was great to see so many groups coming together to achieve a better outcome for the environment.

“By working together, these groups are able to provide a diverse range of informative workshops and activities that will appeal to a range of people,” he said.
