Teenage girl thrown from ute in alleged dangerous driving incident

A 12-year-old girl is set to face court after a reckless driving incident which ended in a 13-year-old girl being thrown from the tray of a ute.

The girls were in a white, stolen Toyota Landcruiser which was allegedly seen driving erratically around 2am on Tuesday in the Bayulu Community in Fitzroy Crossing.

The 13-year-old girl in the tray of the ute was allegedly unrestrained and she was thrown from the vehicle when it continued to drive in a dangerous manner.

She received serious injuries and was flown to Perth, and remains in the Perth Children’s Hospital in a stable condition.

The alleged driver has been charged with dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm, stealing a motor vehicle and having no authority to drive.

She will appear in the Fitzroy Crossing Children’s Court at a later date.
