Telstra launches 4GX network upgrade in Jane Brook and Red Hill

Telstra area general manager Boyd Brown said 4GX was Telstra’s latest 4G service which was bringing faster speeds and extra 4G coverage to a range of communities across WA.

“4GX means locals will get far better coverage with their mobiles, with reliability and consistently fast speeds even with more people, more devices and more activity on Telstra’s mobile network,” he said.

“People are relying on mobile connectivity more than ever.

“The explosion in applications, the shift towards mobile video consumption and use of mobiles in commerce means demand for connectivity continues to grow strongly. We’re staying ahead of this demand by introducing 4GX to increase network capacity.”

Mr Brown said 4GX was based on Telstra’s 700MHz spectrum and delivered higher typical mobile speeds on compatible devices. He said people using compatible devices in 4GX areas would have a typical download speed of five to 150Mbps, three times faster than speeds typically available on Telstra’s 4G service.
