Toodyay: WA Bush Poets and Yarnspinners hosting Australian Poetry Championships

WA Bush Poets and Yarnspinners are hosting the Australian Poetry Championships in Toodyay next month.

The event will provide a stage for the best poets across the nation as they compete for champion titles.

Entry is free to all sessions from November 3-5 in the village Memorial Hall.Renowned Queensland poet Noel Stallard will start the event with a two-hour workshop for participants in the art of bush poetry writing and performing at the CWA rooms.

There will be free entertainment on Friday with renowned singer-songwriter Drummond, a descendent of the Drummond family in Toodyay and WA band The Loaded Dog will host a free bush dance with BYO food and refreshments on Saturday.
