MUNDARING Shire is hosting a third free talk for residents on waste and recycling this month.

Throughout July, the Shire will be offering solutions online to avoid single use plastic, disposable items and excessive packaging.

The workshop will run from 6pm to 8pm on July 17 at the council administration centre.

Sustainability and waste educator Lindsay Miles held two similar workshops last month.

“Community awareness of issues associated with plastic had significantly increased and people had come to realise plastic bags are just the tip of the iceberg,” she said.

As part of Plastic Free July, the Shire is giving away 50 re-usable shopping bags at libraries and the council centre.
