THE Wheatbelt Volunteer Hub will host an expo on December 5 to celebrate International Volunteer Day.

Supported by Northam Shire, the 10am to 3pm event on the village green will showcase the work of volunteer groups and information about volunteering close to home.

More than 600,000 volunteers in WA give their time to hundreds of organisations, from aged care to wildlife and helping out at community events. The social, cultural and economic value of their contribution is reported to be more than $39 billion per year.
