A FOUR-wheel drive swerved around a man moments before he was struck in a hit-run crash in Perth.

The man was walking along a gravel verge in Stratton when he was struck by a vehicle coming from behind him.

He suffered serious injuries in the accident, which happened 2:30am and 3:30am on Sunday.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Toodyay Road, about 300m east of the intersection of Lewis Jones Cross.

A spokesman for police said: “Major crash investigators are particularly interested in speaking to the driver of a large four-wheel drive that swerved around the victim immediately prior to the crash.

“They would like to speak to anyone who saw the crash or anyone who was driving in the area around that time or may have dashcam footage.”
