Staff writerHills Avon Valley Gazette

COMPETITORS from around the country and the world arrived at Skydive York on Saturday in preparation for the Australian National Skydiving Championships.

The competition officially kicked off early on Tuesday morning after two practise days, but came to a halt at 11am because of strong winds and rain.

“Before the elements could get the better of them, we witnessed several thrilling rounds of 4-Way Formation Intermediate, 4-Way Open Formation, 4-Way Open Vertical Formation, and 2-Way Sequential Canopy Formation,” event director Dave Cicciarelli said.
