MIDLAND continued its winning streak at the weekend after a slow start to the Metropolitan Football League season.

The Tigers more than doubled the score of last year’s runner-up Warwick Greenwood on Sunday at North Swan Oval. The Tigers won 15.17 (107) to 8.8 (56).

“That’s more than a 20-goal turn around from round 1 when Warwick Greenwood beat Midland by 12 goals,” a league spokesman said.

“Kookie Garlett was best on ground again for Midland.”

“North Swan Oval is becoming a home ground advantage for the oldest Tigers football club in WA.”

The Tigers are at home again this Sunday when they host Safety Bay at 2.40pm. The reserves host Dwellingup at 12.30pm.

In other results:

Queens Park 16.15 (111) defeated Brighton 7.9 (51).

Safety Bay 19.14 (128) d Koongamia 6.4 (40).

In division 2:

Queens Park 14.6 (90) d Brighton 0.1 (1).

Innaloo 21.16 (142) d Midland 0.1 (1).

Baldivis 16.16 (112) d Dwellingup 7.8 (50).
