Northam Football Club will learn from top AFL coaches

Staff WriterHills Avon Valley Gazette

Club representatives Rob Harris and Jermaine Davis won a coaching and marketing seminar with Hawthorn premiership coach Alastair Clarkson, Western Bulldogs mentor Luke Beveridge and Richmond’s Damien Hardwick last month.

Railways were selected as one of three WA winners for the program in honour of the benefits the club had provided the local community.

Harris was thrilled to have been a part of the experience.

“Our club is incredibly lucky to have had two representatives further their football education, by hearing from some of the smartest minds in the game,” he said.

Program ambassador and football personality Danny Frawley labelled the local clubs system “the backbone of the community”.

“By giving them access to expert AFL coaching advice, as well as some best practices for how to grow their clubs off the field, the clubs will be better placed to further grow their presence,” he said.
