THE Department of Sport and Recreation is encouraging eligible seniors aged 60 and over to apply for up to $200 towards getting active.

In Northam, the program is being rolled out for those seniors who hold a Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card.

The program will also be rolled out in Kwinana, Belmont, Coolgardie, and Kalgoorlie and Boulder.

Silver Sport applications officially open on July 1 and can be accessed for the next year.

Based on the State Government’s successful Kid Sport program, Silver Sport provides up to $200 towards fees, uniforms and equipment needed for sport and recreation activities.
