PERTH Scorchers players and mascot Amber dropped into Parkerville Primary School to help promote the game.

The visit was part of national registration drive PlayCricket Week in the Hills.

It coincided with the release of Australian Cricket Census data for 2015-16, which showed the sport attracting more than 1.3 million participants.

In WA, those playing the game rose to 167,477.
