The 26-year-old Kalamunda Kickboxing and Martial Arts member fought at World Kickboxing Association’s Fight Night held on November 23 in Lesmurdie, but was unable to beat his opponent.

‘I bashed him, but then I lost,’ he said.

The weekend loss marked his fourth since he took up the sport six years ago.

‘I have competed in eight competitions; I have won four and lost four, it’s not too bad but it could be better,’ he said.

The Byford bricklayer said he got his mind back in the competition, with more training and going over past mistakes.

‘I train five times a week for two hours per night except for one hour on the fifth night,’ he said.

‘I’ll go over my mistakes and try improve. There is another fight night next year so I have plenty of time to prepare.’

The losses have not deterred Robertson from working towards his goals.

‘I’d like to work my way up to State title, then Australian, then South Pacific title.’
