‘I had a really good start, but let frustration get to me when I made a few errors,’ she said.

Green was quick to praise Bettencourt, who is a close friend.

‘We have a really friendly rivalry on the course and room together on interstate trips,’ Green said.

After telling her dad she did not enjoy golf as a child, Green has since made the game her full-time priority.

‘Between 9am and 5pm every day, I’m out on the course working on my game or in the gym,’ Green said.

‘It’s hard because family and friends don’t get to see me a lot when I’m at home.’

Green said finishing high school last year had eased her stress levels.

‘It was a balancing act last year getting assigned school work while away on tournaments,’ she said.

‘I’ve been offered a few scholarships from US colleges, but that lifestyle isn’t really for me.’

Green said coach Richie Smith was a major contributor to her success.

She will soon play tournaments in Adelaide, Malaysia and the US.
