CITY of Joondalup ratepayers who pay their rates by August 17 could win from a prize pool worth almost $70,000.

In the rates draw six people will be randomly matched to a prize.

The two major prizes, valued at more than $26,000, include a Mitsubishi LS ASX vehicle, a photography experience and movie passes.

The other four packs valued from $3500 to $4100 include photography sessions, concert tickets, leisure centre memberships, dining vouchers, movie passes, cash, hotel accommodation and a Rottnest day trip.

Mayor Albert Jacob said prompt payment of rates provided an early flow of cash that helped the City start delivering its major capital projects from the 2018-19 budget.

“More than 43 per cent of ratepayers paid their rates in full in 2017-18 to qualify for the draw,” he said.

Rates must be paid by August 17 at 10pm.

The draw will be held at the City’s civic centre on August 24.

Coinciding with this year’s draw, Rottnest Fast Ferries is also offering 25 per cent off return trips to Rottnest Island for City of Joondalup ratepayers until September 20.
