They operated cafes at universities and hospitals before setting up Galileo cafes.

“We are expanding our presence in Perth and expanding our brand Galileo,” Mr Gunawardena said.

They sell salads, focaccias, chicken schnitzel, fish and chips, and curries.

The Joondalup cafe on Injune Way is open from 8.30am to 5pm seven days a week and the Butler Boulevard cafe is open from 8.30am to 2.30pm daily.

They have employed about six people across the two sites in Home Co centres, which also house spudshed stores.

“I thought it’s a great location given there’s a lot of traffic and it’s great exposure,” Mr Gunawardena said.

“The community needs a good destination to have a great cup of coffee.”
