A JOONDALUP-based swimming school was recently recognised as one of the best in WA.

Seastarz Mobile Swim School won the 2015 WA AUSTSWIM award for a recognised swim centre that has demonstrated excellence, commitment and innovation in developing and delivering swimming and water safety programs.

Owner Louise Schmidt received the award from former Olympic coach Laurie Lawrence, who was the keynote speaker at this year’s conference.

Mrs Schmidt said it was “a great honour” because Seastarz was a “new business doing something truly innovative by offering families certificated learn-to-swim lessons in their own home pools”.
