THE Joondalup Business Association (JBA) has a new board, with advertising executive Max Wilson as its new president.

He takes over from outgoing president James Filing and will head up a board without JBA stalwart Russell Poliwka who decided to step back.

Mr Wilson, who is an advertising manager with Community News, said the board had a wealth of small business experience and people from different backgrounds to bring new energy and innovation.

“The JBA’s new board has many challenges ahead, however our focus will be on improving member engagement and advocacy for members, while building relationships with many stakeholders throughout the region,” he said.

“This is an exciting opportunity for the association to build on past successes and now grow with new ideas, innovation, and better engagement with our business community.

“I would like to thank the previous board and in particular president James Filing for all they have done for our members and small business in general within the North West metropolitan area,” he said.

The elected board includes vice presidents Martin Smith and Nunzio Guinta, treasurer Audrey Tooze, secretary Yadi Gibson, Ray Foster, Paul Filing and Neil Gerrard.
