KINROSS resident Pauline Rumley spent 14 years working for a mining contractor in human resources and recruitment, but when she had her third child in 2013, her priorities changed.

After struggling to find a part-time job with the flexibility she needed, she started home business Little Sweet Party Hire.

With a vision to put all her party toys under the one roof, she has now opened a play centre in Joondalup.

“People were always commenting on how great the soft play equipment was for parties, so I thought I would take another chance and have it all in one place where people can come to us and have fun everyday,” Mrs Rumley said.

“The concept was to keep it small and only for up to five-year-olds because I would get so frustrated in the big play centres when I couldn’t find the kids or one would be in the small area and one in the big area.”

Sweet Little Play Centre is open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 2pm, and caters for private-booking birthday parties after 2pm or on Sundays.

It has a ball pit, bouncy castle, soft play equipment and other toddler friendly toys including ride-on cars and bikes, while parents have an area to enjoy coffee and food.
