A NEW accommodation option has opened in the Joondalup city centre.

Quest Joondalup officially opened its Boas Avenue doors today, offering 90 apartments across five storeys to business travellers and visiting families.

This is made up of 10 two-bedroom, 40 one-bedroom and 40 studio apartments.

Designed for families, the two-bedroom apartments also have two bathrooms, a kitchen with full-sized fridge and dishwasher, oven, microwave and stovetop, and a spacious living area with queen-sized sofa bed, comfortably accommodating six guests.

The one-bedroom apartment is also designed for extended stays, with a kitchen including fridge, dishwasher, oven, microwave and stovetop, and a queen-sized sofa bed allowing for four guests.

All one and two-bedroom apartments also have a washer and dryer in the bathroom and a balcony with views including Lake Joondalup, the city centre and even glimpses of the ocean.

The final room option is the studio apartment, which includes a smaller kitchen with fridge, microwave and stovetop.

However, all studio and one-bedroom apartments are interconnecting, allowing them to open up to accommodate bigger families.

Quest Joondalup also features designated wheelchair access rooms that have wider doors and lower kitchen and bathroom benches, as well as two lifts and wide hallways.

Property manager Sheree Blum said this was an important inclusion given the hotel’s close proximity to Joondalup Health Campus.

Other amenities include a laundry that can be used for free by all guests, a gym that can be access 24/7, a barbecue area and a secure carpark for 32 vehicles.

With a strong focus on business travellers, the hotel also has a business lounge with complimentary coffee and several data points, and a conference room for up to 80 guests seated and 100 standing and featuring a large “active touch screen” which can also be used as a computer or whiteboard.

While two conferences have already been booked at the hotel for this week, Ms Blum said it was not just corporate visitors who would benefit from the accommodation.

She said they had already seen opportunities with visiting sports clubs to HBF Arena and families travelling from overseas for the Christmas holidays.

Ms Blum said other features of the hotel included sensor lights and air-conditioners in all rooms, and a paperless reception with check-ins done through a tablet and receipts emailed.

The hotel has also established a partnership with six eateries in the local area so guests can charge their bill back to their room.

Quest Hotel will also feature 12 staff members including housekeeping, front office and a fulltime business development officer, most of who live locally.
