A SORRENTO restaurant has taken part in Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a pink high tea on October 2.

Jane Baroni, of The Pink Gig, approached White Salt owners Tim and Claire Leech to host the event, which sold out within a week.

The afternoon featured guest speaker Emma Taylor who spoke of her breast cancer, the work of charities and her role as a counsellor to others affected by the disease.

As part of the fundraiser, White Salt’s staff worked for no pay and the food, champagne, tea and coffee for 90 guests was donated by local suppliers.

There was also a raffle and silent auction.

The event raised $7500 for Breast Cancer Care WA.
