NORTHERN suburbs fine dining establishment Conti’s Restaurant in Woodvale has closed.
The Conti family announced the closure of the restaurant at its Wanneroo Road winery in a post-Christmas social media post to patrons.
“After nearly 40 years of food service, and due to varying circumstances, we are closing the doors of Conti’s Restaurant, until further notice,” the announcement read.
“We will of course keep you in the loop of any upcoming developments at our homestead venue, but most importantly we would like to thank you for your loyalty and unwavering support over many decades.
“Our winery events (and winery) will continue as an integral part of our business, and the alfresco enclosure is still open for private events and functions, upon request.”
Winery owner Paul Conti said while the restaurant was “a huge part of our identity, it was always an ancillary business we created to offer a fine dining experience for the local community”.
“It was an extremely difficult decision to close but dining trends have changed and the restaurant will re-open in the future to reflect a subtle shift in its food offering,” he said.
“The winery still remains our core focus.
“And aside from making wine, we’ve found that hosting special wine-related events are well received by the community who are keen to try the full portfolio, but also immerse themselves in a slice of history at our Woodvale premises.”
The news was met with sadness from its supporters on the winery’s Facebook page:
