THE City of Joondalup is inviting local artists to enter the 2019 Community Art Exhibition for a chance to share in a prize pool of more than $7000.

The popular annual event is open to all City residents and members of local visual arts associations.

One artist will be commissioned to produce a $3000 artwork for the City’s Inside-Out Billboard on the Joondalup Library.

Another will be invited to hold a solo exhibition at the Joondalup Art Gallery as part of the Arts In Focus program.

Students aged 11 to 18 are also invited to enter a new category this year: an online youth photography exhibition.

Entry is $5 with a $250 voucher on offer.

Prize categories include most outstanding artwork ($1500), painting ($1000), works on paper ($1000), 3-dimensional works ($1000), multimedia ($1000), celebrating Joondalup ($500), student award ($250), student photography award ($250) and popular choice ($500).

The 2019 Community Art Exhibition will run from June 9 to 23 at Lakeside Joondalup Shopping City.

Entries will be accepted from March 4 until 5pm April 30.
