KINROSS College students will transform into Rydell High rock stars for three nights next month.

Students from years 7 to 10 have been working since November to put together a musical production of Grease under the direction of music and drama teachers Ashlyn La Cava and Jaxon Barclay.

The performance will feature all songs played live by a mixture of WAAPA musicians and lecturers who have played in nationwide productions such as We will Rock You, Legally Blonde, Jesus Christ Superstar and the upcoming production of Cats.

The Pink Ladies choir: Emily Marchant (front), Grace Rea, Amy Spillman, Phoebe Chapman and Madeleine O’Leary.

“The cast and crew are really dedicated and have been rehearsing in their own time after school and into the holidays,” associate principal Dale Beaton said.

“This really is a whole school production with many members of staff involved in one way or another, including the home economics department who are busy with their textiles students creating costumes and their food technology students baking in preparation for catering at the venue.

“We even have a few of our teaching staff join in and perform.”

Ella-Louise Steyn.

The production will be staged on September 4, 6 and 7 at the Barbara Godwin Performing Arts Complex at St Mark’s Anglican Community School in Hillarys.

Doors open 6pm for a 7pm start.

Tickets are $25 via www.trybooking.com/BDKVK.
