LOCAL artists can follow in the footsteps of Gail Leidich and have their artwork displayed in the Joondalup Reception Centre.

Leidich is the second artist to take part in a new City of Joondalup initiative where they can apply to have their work shown for four months at the popular Joondalup venue.

With regular foot traffic at events and functions, the reception centre doubles as a passive community art gallery.

All artworks on display will be available to buy with pricing and contact details on display.

Originally from California, Leidich has been in Australia for more than 30 years and has always felt a great affinity with water, which her paintings often reflect.

The Ocean Reef resident was a potter and an art teacher before concentrating solely on painting.

A new artwork will be installed in July.
