New story begins for local toy libraries in Greenwood

Tyler BrownJoondalup Times

The not-for-profit organisation has kept the name Greenwood Toy Library and provides more than 800 toys for members to borrow.

President Kellie Ireland said having access to a toy library enabled parents to borrow toys that were matched to children’s individual needs, stage of development and interests and designed to facilitate particular skill development.

“It also helps the environment by borrowing rather than purchasing and members get to meet other young families in the community,” she said.

“Having an opportunity to try toys before buying also ensures a successful toy purchase.”
