“After class they often go home and finish the paintings they’ve been working on, and they often paint more during the week, but we never get to see them framed and up on a wall which is why I decided to hold this exhibition,” she said.

Titled A Brush With Watercolour, the exhibition at Joondalup Art Gallery will feature 21 artists and 66 paintings, with most for sale.

Subjects will include landscapes, seascapes, animals and still life.

The public is invited to attend the official opening from 2pm to 4pm on Sunday, September 2.

The exhibition will then continue until Friday, September 14, open daily from 10am to 2pm, with extra showings from 5.30pm to 9pm on the two Fridays.
