CRAIGIE musician Toby Anning and his band Intenso will tomorrow night launch their new album The Slow Cataclysm of Neglect at Bar 459 in North Perth.

Intenso aims to push the boundaries of musical composition.

Since 2010, the three-piece has twice won the WA Music Song of the Year award in the experimental category – in 2015 with Earthquake and this year with As Steadfast as the Ether Itself.

They like to explore less conventional sound making utilising, but not confining themselves to, drums, Rhodes piano and samples, pushing themselves and their audience through improvisation, conceptual idea building blocks and experimentation.

The September 27 event will kick off at 8pm with support acts Akioka, a DJ set from FEELS and Alex and Yell.
