Held at Subiaco Library last month, Palmer's two-dimensional piece Forest Twilight was selected from more than 1700 entries from around WA to join 16 others to place in the award.
The 11-year-old Poynter Primary School student impressed judges with her use of colour and impressionist influences and high level of artistic skill.
