ALL You Need is Love will be the message at the City of Joondalup’s 2019 Valentine’s Concert, which for the first time will cost residents for tickets.

Jack Jones, Wes Carr, Rai Thistlethwayte and Jackson Thomas, backed by the Perth Symphony Orchestra, will bring the music of The Beatles to the Joondalup Resort on Thursday, February 14, for the WA premiere performance.

The City said the Valentine’s Concert had been running since 2005 with musical acts “growing in stature in recent years” and costing more than $300,000.

“Given the significant costs associated with large scale, modern concert productions, and to ensure the event can continue to deliver outstanding musical acts, the City will introduce a fee for tickets,” it said.

“Charging a fee will assist in ensuring the concert can continue to grow as a signature WA event, primarily for the local community. The City will continue to subsidise the concert, with a recent run of All You Need Is Love at venues in Sydney and Melbourne selling from $89 per ticket.”

Tickets will be $25 for City residents, $20 for residents with a valid concession card, $10 for children and $35 for non-residents.

Residents can buy tickets from November 5 to 19 before they are made available to people outside the City. Tickets will be available online through Ticketbooth or City of Joondalup customer service centres.

From the Producers of The White Album Concert, Beatles Back2Back, Rubber Soul Revolver and most recently Beatles First 5, the show will feature songs carefully chosen for their instrumentation and arrangements involving a full orchestra seamlessly integrated with The Beatles’ own rock sensibility.
