IT’S been dubbed Selfie Heaven.
Visual artist Carla O’Brien has put together an imaginative collection of things evoking love for her neon light exhibition at Lakeside Joondalup Shopping City.
The walk-through installation, titled All You Need is Love, is part of the City of Joondalup’s second annual Kaleidoscope Festival.
The touchable pieces – made out of LED neon flex – include a flying kite, umbrellas on a rainy day, flowers, angel wings, people made of mosaic mirrors and love hearts.
Musically underscored by The Beatles hit All You Need is Love, festival promoters say people are “compelled to engage with each of the items with selfies (with loved ones) and social media uploads”.
“It’s a selfie wonderland; don’t forget to tag your pics with #kscope.”
O’Brien is known for her neon angel wings spanning 4m – they will feature at the Kaleidoscope Festival in the Joondalup city centre from November 9 to 12.
Singer Katy Perry helped the wings go global when she posted photos of herself with them on Instagram at Burning Man festival 2016.
After 16 years living in Los Angeles, O’Brien is now based in her hometown Melbourne.
