Apartments proposed to replace accommodation in Connolly

A FOUR-storey apartment complex has been proposed to replace short stay accommodation next to Connolly Shopping Centre.

The City of Joondalup is currently seeking feedback for the development application at 3 Glenelg Place, which includes 27 apartments and an undercroft carpark, and would see the demolition of the Pelicans Nest short stay apartments.

The new building would be made up of 19 units with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, three with two bedrooms and one bathroom, and five with one bedroom and one bathroom.

The carpark would include 27 residential and five visitor car bays, three motorcycle bays, and 14 residential and three visitor bicycle bays.

The development has an estimated value of $6 million, so the application will be determined by the Metro North-West Joint Development Assessment Panel at a future meeting.
