Arson Squad investigates bushland fires

ARSON Squad investigators are on the hunt for the offender or offenders responsible to several fires in Warwick since August 2019.

The fires, which occurred in the area of Warwick Open Space, Ellersdale Reserve and surrounds, are being treated as suspicious.

Warwick Open Space is classified as a major conservation area in the City of Joondalup.

The reserve covers about 60 hectares of bushland and has high biodiversity values.

Detectives are urging anyone who sees any suspicious activity, persons or vehicles or who has any dash cam footage of the area near the fires is asked to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au.

Callers may remain anonymous if they wish.

Rewards of up to $50,000 are available for information that leads to the apprehension and subsequent conviction of an arsonist.

Warwick Open Space was also the target of a deliberately lit blaze in November last year.
