AUTHOR and human rights advocate Carina Hoang was guest speaker at an International Women’s Day event this month.
Ms Hoang escaped Vietnam in 1979 and was eventually resettled in America and is a special representative for Australia for UNHCR.
She addressed more than 200 women at the lunch, hosted by the West Coast View Club at Hillarys Yacht Club.

The event featured former TV and radio presenter Verity James as MC and performances by WA Academy of Performing Arts students.
Proceeds raised were donated to The Smith Family.
