First-year student Mitchell Bruce is one of the inaugural Sir Charles Court Leadership Award recipients this year.
The award goes to students who have participated in the university’s Year 10 leadership development program, the Sir Charles Court Young Leaders Program and who go on to enrol in an undergraduate degree at the university.
Mitchell, who graduated last year with an Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank of 99.5, is starting his Bachelor of Molecular Genetics and Biotechnology degree at Curtin University this semester.
“There are many rewards that come from leading and being involved in both education and the community and I feel very fortunate to have received this award,” he said.
Recipients receive $3000 in a one-off cash payment which can be used for education-related expenses.
