LAST year’s highest performing graduating students and their families returned to Duncraig Senior High School for a special ceremony.

The 40 students were awarded a certificate and signed the Duncraig SHS Scholars Book.

Students were recognised for achieving an ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admission Rank) greater than 90, with five students scoring 99 or higher, putting them in the top 1 per cent in the state.

The highest achieving vocational education and training students were also recognised.

Special mention was also made of the several students who achieved certificates of distinction and merit from the School Curriculum and Standards Authority and the three students – Emini Burim, Joanna McLeod and Jessica Pivetta – who received certificates of excellence for being in the top 0.5 per cent of their courses.

Current Year 12 student Indiana Samuels was also presented with the ECU Citizenship Award for her commitment to the school and wider community in music and drama.
