Bands will battle at Defeat the Beat

Tyler BrownJoondalup Times

FIVE local musical acts will battle it out on stage at the City of Joondalup’s Defeat the Beat competition on April 17.

Earlier this year, the City put the call out for local bands, soloists, beatboxers, DJs, hip hop artists and other young performers to enter this year’s competition.

From the entries, Danni K, Sugarwood, Danika Dray, Yesterday’s Jam and Charlie Martin have been selected to perform live at Bar1 Nightclub in Hillarys.

The five acts will be judged on musicianship and professionalism, originality, stage presence and entertainment value.
