FOR the third straight year, Warwick Senior High School student Han Nguyen will have her artwork flying in the Perth CBD.

The Year 12 student was named the winner of the City of Joondalup’s Banners in the Terrace competition that invites local schools to design a banner that visually represents the City.

As well as winning a $150 voucher, Ms Nguyen’s design will be transferred to a larger banner to fly in St Georges Terrace with up to 70 others during Local Government Week from July 23 to August 5.

Judges said Ms Nguyen’s submission clearly celebrated Joondalup, showed attention to detail, was striking and had a good combination of elements.

Second place and a $100 voucher went to Hannah Wallace, from Springfield Primary School, and third place and $75 went to Ocean Reef Senior High School’s Reece Jemerson.

This year, the City received 42 entries from primary and high school students, which will be displayed at Joondalup Library until June 16, then Woodvale Library from June 19 to 30.
