BEAUMARIS Primary School has seen firsthand how community action can bring about change.
During the 2017 State election, the school’s P&C committee and staff members spoke with Joondalup MLA Emily Hamilton about the need for a new perimeter fence to keep students safe and the school site protected.
With reports of antisocial behaviour and damaged property, Ms Hamilton advocated on behalf of the school community.
Earlier this month students and teachers met with Ms Hamilton to show her the new fence.
“Our beautiful school will be able to have some very exciting outdoor learning programs and opportunities as a result of this support,” principal Jo Stephens said.
“We are ever grateful for the support for our programs and of course increasing the safety of our children and school buildings.”
