Billboard adds to city centre art

Tyler BrownJoondalup Times

The addition to the Joondalup courthouse is part of the Inside-Out Billboard project.

It will re-display previously commissioned artworks that appeared on the Joondalup Library billboard over the past three years, in the same order they appeared.

The first artwork on show is Alighiero e Boetti from Wikipedia Commonwealth of Nations by WA artist Helen Smith.

The Joondalup Library billboard will continue to display newly commissioned works by artists taking part in the City’s Community Art Exhibition and Community Invitation Art Award.

The latest commission on the library billboard is titled Cave of Forms, December 1975.

WA artist Amy Perejuan-Capone created the piece from a high-resolution digital scan of an original square Kodak image from her family archive.

The image features Perejuan-Capone’s then 20-year-old father flying a hang glider on Burns Beach in December 1975.
