Boy (14) charged over bushfire in Warwick

POLICE have charged a 14-year-old boy over a bushfire in Warwick yesterday.

Police allege that about 3.30pm, the boy set fire to some scrub near Warwick open space on Lloyd Drive.

The fire quickly spread, burning approximately two hectares of bushland.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services attended and extinguished the fire.

The boy, from Nollamara, has been charged with wilfully lighting or causing to be lit a fire likely to injure or damage.

He is due to appear before the Perth Children’s Court on March 13.
