THE Arson Squad have charged a boy with deliberately setting fire to bushland on two occasions last month.
On Wednesday January 9, about 4pm, the boy allegedly set fire to scrub off Burns Beach Road, Currambine.
The fire quickly spread and came close to homes before being extinguished by the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES).
The second fire occurred on Sunday, January 20, about 4pm, when it is alleged the boy set fire to scrub in Caledonia Park in Currambine.

Detectives have charged a 16-year-old boy with two counts of wilfully lighting or causing to be lit a fire likely to injure or damage.
He is due to appear in Joondalup Children’s Court March 19.
